Delainey Briske – Randolph County

Delainey was enrolled in the Youth Ready Program on February 24, 2022. She is currently in her second year of the RN Nursing Program at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. The Youth Ready Program provided Delainey with classroom stipends, certificate incentives and reimbursement for school supplies which helped support her financially and allowed her to focus on being a mom and obtaining her education. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA the entire time she’s been in training. She applied for and was accepted for a 10-week Nurse Externship at UHC in Clarksburg where she worked on the PACU and Oncology MedSurg Units. Once Delainey completed the externship, she applied for and was accepted to stay on as a Nursing Aid, which she did for several months. She then applied for and was accepted for a Nurse Apprenticeship Program through Davis Medical Family Birth Center, which is where she currently works. Delainey has accomplished all this while taking care of her young daughter who is soon to turn 3 years old. Delainey’s graduation will be May 11, 2024. Once she graduates, she intends on finding full-time employment as an RN in Randolph County.

Delainey Briske: “Being an RN student and young mom can be challenging, but Youth Ready, provided by the Region IV Workforce Development Board, has been a great support system for me. By receiving support from the youth program, I’ve been able to participate in valuable training and educational services that have not only prepared me for a productive career but has also made the journey more manageable. Thanks to the Youth Ready Program I’m confidently pursuing my dreams while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood.”
